This was the perfect era of pop music. Modern pop doesn’t even come close.

Just remember: though Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, etc. etc. may sell millions of records, these artists were able to match and exceed those sales during a time when the internet didn’t run the music business. There was no iTunes, no Amazon, no illegal downloads. Fans actually took the time to go out and buy the records. Now THAT is an accomplishment.
